Hostel dorms vs private rooms, I was wrong about the savings
Ngl I always booked dorm beds to save cash on euro trips. But after paying $35 a night in Barcelona last month and getting zero sleep because of snorers, I tried a private room at a cheap hostel near the beach for $55. The extra $20 got me actual rest and a kitchen to cook in, totally worth it. Has anyone else found a hidden fee that makes dorms not worth it?

My buddy Matt got burned bad in Lisbon. Booked a dorm for $28 a night thinking he was being smart with his money. First night some guy came in drunk at 3am and started snoring like a chainsaw. Second night he got bed bugs on his leg. He ended up moving to a private room at a different place for $45 and said it was the best decision he made all trip. That extra cash saved him from going home with bites and no sleep.

Yo wait, $35 for a dorm in Barcelona? I paid like $12 for one in Prague last summer and thought that was normal pricing. That dorm must have been some kind of luxury spot or something.
