My big travel mistake was always booking the first cheap flight I saw
I was planning a trip to Lisbon and found a $400 round trip flight that seemed great. I booked it right away, but then kept checking prices out of habit. Two days later, the same flight dropped to $280. That was the moment I realized my 'hack' of booking fast was actually costing me money. Now I'm torn between grabbing a good deal when I see it and waiting for a better price. How long do you guys usually wait to book a flight after you start looking?

Ugh that "booking fast" habit is so real. My friend did the exact same thing for a trip to Dublin. He saw a price he liked and just pulled the trigger, thinking he was being smart. He spent the next week watching the price drop almost a hundred bucks. He was so mad at himself. Now he forces himself to watch the flights for at least a few days, sometimes setting a price alert. It's a total mental game not to just click buy.

My old laptop had a sticky 'B' key from spilling coffee, which made me pause before booking. That forced delay showed me prices often dip mid-week. Now I just pretend my keyboard is broken for a few days.

Honestly, it's just a hundred bucks on a whole trip. I'd rather lock in the dates and stop thinking about it.
