My old airport hotel routine in Phoenix was costing me a fortune

Switched to using the airport's free luggage lockers and napping in a 24-hour lounge for $30, saved over $150 last trip. Anyone else found a solid way to kill a long layover without booking a room?

That lounge nap sounds rough on your back for more than an hour. I just bring a good book and camp out at a quiet gate. Saving money is nice, but comfort still matters.

Honestly saw this travel blog post about airport sleeping last week. They said those lounge chairs are basically designed for short rests, not real sleep. Tbh your back will start hurting after like 45 minutes no matter how you twist around. Bringing a book and finding a quiet spot is definitely the smarter move. Ngl I'd rather be a little bored and save the cash than wake up with a stiff neck for my whole trip.

Good call on the lockers. I've done the lounge nap thing too and @uma_baker88 is right about the chairs. A travel pillow makes a huge difference if you're set on sleeping.
