Serious question, my $38/night hostel in Lisbon became a $21/night one after I started booking 6 weeks out
Last September I paid $38 a night for a hostel bed in Lisbon because I booked 4 days before the trip. Same hostel, same week this year, but I booked 6 weeks ahead and paid $21 a night, which saved me about $119 over a week. The front desk guy said prices jump once the dorm gets below 30 percent full. How far ahead do you usually book to get the good rate without locking yourself in too early?
