Showerthought: From my last trip, I learned that avoiding reusable gear can actually be a budget win. Why is that so unpopular?

Honestly, a lot of people just don't do the math on it. Tbh, buying a cheap disposable poncho or water bottle each trip can be way less than a fancy reusable one that you might forget or have break. The upfront cost for good gear feels smart, but if you only travel once a year, it doesn't pay off. Plus, you save all that space in your luggage and never worry about losing your nice stuff. It's not the trendy choice, but it works for your wallet.

Nothing screams "smart travel" like buying a new plastic bottle every trip, am I right? I mean, if you only go away once a year, forgetting your reusable stuff is almost a given. Idk, maybe it's just me, but I've had those fancy ponchos tear when you need them most. Sure, it saves money and space, but my conscience starts nagging me about all that waste. Guess we're all just out here trying to balance our budgets and our guilt trips.

Wait, you buy a new water bottle every single trip? That's... a lot of bottles.
