Spent 2 hours trying to find a hostel that wasn't a total scam in Bangkok
Every booking site showed these amazing cheap deals, but the reviews on Google Maps told a completely different story. Has anyone else found a good way to quickly spot the fake listings?

That fake listing problem @linda_murphy mentioned is just the tip of the iceberg though. It's scary how many people get stuck in situations that look fine online but are totally different in real life. Makes you wonder what other parts of our daily lives have this same gap between what's advertised and what's real.
