Stretching a company trip for personal days to cut costs
Honestly, I've used business travel to visit family by adding a day or two. Tbh, it saves a ton on airfare since the job pays for the main ticket. But some coworkers argue it's wrong and might get you fired. I saw a friend get yelled at for booking a cheap hotel after a meeting. Ngl, it feels like a smart way to travel for less. Where do you stand on this? Is it a good budget trick or just asking for trouble?

A finance blog I read called it "bleisure" and said policies are all over the map. It's a calculated risk because if your boss finds out you hid it, they'll definitely question your other expenses. Not worth the side-eye from accounting for a cheaper vacation.

Ever think about how that side-eye could turn into a full audit? If they doubt one expense, they might dig into everything from that trip. Suddenly that cheap vacation costs you way more in time and stress.

Most people skip checking their company's travel insurance policy. If your flight gets cancelled on a personal day, you could be stuck paying for a new ticket yourself because work coverage often stops the second the business part ends. That hidden cost blew up a friend's budget trip real fast.
