DAE think hitting a $10,000 emergency fund goal is overrated once you actually get there?
Hit $10,000 in my savings account this past Friday and I honestly expected to feel something big. My wife and I did the math on our padded grocery budget and realized we have enough to cover 4 months of bills if we both lose our jobs. Now I hear two sides from people I trust. My brother says stop there and throw everything at the car loan at 6.9% because the math doesn't lie. My neighbor says keep stacking cash because a layoff in this town takes 7 months to bounce back from. So which one is it, do you cap the fund at a set number or just keep piling it up? Curious what number you all landed on and why.
