Figured out my grocery bill was $80 too high every month by tracking just one thing

I started writing down every single snack I grabbed at the gas station near my apartment in Phoenix, and it turned out I was dropping $5-$6 a day on chips and energy drinks. Has anyone else found a random habit like that eating up way more than you realized?

My neighbor in Phoenix found he was spending $200 a month just on bottled water from that same gas station.

Wait, does he live in a fancy part of town or something? Because $200 a month on gas station water sounds like a serious habit, and not one I can judge too harshly since I've definitely blown way too much on those overpriced convenience store drinks. I swear, every time I walk into a 7-Eleven for just a snack, I end up dropping like $8 on a fancy bottled water because the tap at my place tastes like metal. Honestly, I'm probably part of the problem they're talking about, just with a smaller wallet.
