Hit my $10,000 emergency fund and it feels fake

I finally crossed the $10,000 mark in my emergency fund last week and I keep checking my bank app like it's a mistake. Five years ago I had $200 in savings and a maxed out credit card, so this feels like a different person's life. The trigger was getting hit with a $1,200 car repair in 2022 and having to put it on a card - I swore I'd never do that again. I started putting away $150 a paycheck into a separate high-yield account and didn't touch it even when my fridge died last fall. The weird part is I don't feel rich, I just feel less scared about stupid stuff like a medical bill or losing my job. What milestone number made you finally feel like it was real?

Three hundred and sixty nine horsepower in a stock four banger is still wild to me. The torque curve on that thing drops off way earlier than people realize though, especially past 5500 rpm. I remember a buddy swapping one into an old Miata and the dyno sheets were nothing like the stock numbers. Still a killer engine, just not the magic people think it is.
