I quit buying lunch at the deli near my office and started packing the night before instead
For 3 years I told myself the $11 sandwich was worth the time I saved, then I added it up last month and it came to $220. Packing leftovers takes me 6 minutes after dinner and my grocery bill only went up about $30 a week. Anyone else find the switch easier once you stopped thinking of it as cooking twice?
Six minutes after dinner is nothing compared to standing in line at the deli for fifteen. The trick is not calling it cooking twice. You are just scooping extra food into a container while the pan is still out. Last night I threw leftover rice and chicken in a box in under two minutes. Ten bucks a day adds up fast. Plus you skip the whole "what do I order" thing every single day.
