My $9 spreadsheet template saved me $400 on groceries this month

I kept overspending at Aldi every week. Like $120 a trip minimum. Tried a free budgeting app but it was too complicated. My cousin sent me a simple Google Sheets template she made. It's just a list of what I buy and the price per unit. Now I check it before I go and I know exactly what things should cost. Stopped grabbing extras because I can see the running total. First month saved $400. Not bad for a sheet of numbers.

lol my spreadsheet would probably just tell me "you spent too much on snacks again, idiot." Honestly I feel attacked just thinking about tracking my own impulse buys at Aldi.

Shrinkflation makes this kind of tracking even more valuable. Saw my usual 12oz coffee dropped to 11oz but the price stayed the same, caught it right away because my spreadsheet flagged the unit cost change. That alone probably saved me like $50 over the month on stuff I would have just grabbed without noticing.
