My coworker's $20 spreadsheet changed my monthly grocery game

Last month I was complaining about how our food bill kept creeping up, like $680 one week and I had no idea where it went. She just turned her screen around and showed me this simple Google Sheet she tracks every single receipt in, down to the cents. She's been doing it for 18 months and said her average household spend dropped from $850 to $610 a month just by seeing what was actually going in the cart. I started my own version last Tuesday, and already caught myself buying three different kinds of salsa that we never finished. Anyone else find a weird little tool that made a bigger difference than any fancy budget app?

And once you see the waste, you start meal planning around what you already bought, which cuts the bill even more.
