My grocery bill dropped $40 a week after I stopped shopping on Sundays
Last month I noticed I was spending around $120 every Sunday at the store near my apartment in Denver. I figured it was just my normal habits. Then I tried shopping on a Wednesday evening instead because I had nothing else to do. The aisles were way emptier and I was in and out in 20 minutes without buying any of the extra snacks or drinks I usually grab. My total came to $78 and I realized most of my impulse buys happened when the place was packed and I was stressed. Has anyone else noticed their spending changes just by switching the day you go?

That happened to me too actually. Switched from Saturday morning to Tuesday after work and suddenly my cart was half snacks I didn't need. It's wild how much a crowded store messes with your wallet.

Yeah, I heard a study once that said crowded stores make people buy more because it triggers a kind of stress response. That lines up with what you said about impulse buys happening when it's packed. Ever since I read that, I've been trying to avoid peak hours too.
