My grocery bill dropped by $40 after I started planning meals around the flyer
I sat down with the store flyer on Sunday and built my list from the front page deals, like the chicken and broccoli on special. It felt weird at first but I stuck to the list and only bought what was on sale. Has anyone else tried this and found it actually works?

Yeah, saw a whole article about this strategy. @kevin218 has the right idea with the front page meat thing.

Wait, you actually saw a drop that big just from sticking to the flyer? That's awesome... mine went down about $25 my first month, and I was pretty happy with that. It feels weird at first, like you're being too strict or something, but once you get into the rhythm it just becomes habit. I do the same thing with the front page meat, and honestly I've discovered some new recipes I never would have tried otherwise. It's kind of like a little challenge every week, figuring out what to do with whatever's on sale. You're not alone in this, it really does add up over time.

Planning around the flyer saved me a ton too. I started buying whatever meat was on the front page and built my week around that. Last month it was pork chops, so we had them three different ways. My bill is consistently lower now.
