My kid's school fair made me rethink how I buy snacks

I was at the spring fair at Oakwood Elementary last Saturday and saw a parent just handing out whole bags of chips to a group of kids. I realized I do the same thing at home, letting my own kids grab whatever they want. So this week, I started putting single servings in a bowl instead of leaving the big bag out. It cut our snack spending by about $15 already. Anyone else have a simple switch that stopped a small money leak?

My friend used to buy those big juice boxes, and her kids would just suck them down one after another. She switched to pouring a glass from a jug at mealtime, and it cut their juice bill in half. It's crazy how those little habits add up.

Is halving the juice bill really that big of a deal?

Whole bags of chips for a group (that's a lot of salt and fat, honestly).
