My sister called me out on my 'treat yourself' coffee habit and I finally did the math
She pointed out I was spending $5.75 every morning at that cafe near my house in Denver. I added it up over a month and it came to $172.50 just for coffee. That's almost my whole electric bill in one drink. I started making cold brew at home with a $12 pitcher from Target and it tastes just as good. Now I'm saving about $140 a month without really missing the drive thru. Has anyone else had a family member call them out on a small habit that was quietly eating cash?

Respectfully, a cup of coffee a day doesn't have to be a bad thing if you actually enjoy it.

Right, because drinking something you hate every morning is somehow better for you? There's this whole "wellness" thing that acts like enjoying your food is a sin or something. Honestly, if a little coffee gets you through the day without turning into a zombie, I say go for it.
