My sister-in-law's envelope system made me ditch my budgeting app
She showed me her cash-filled envelopes for groceries and gas at her kitchen table in Tacoma, saying 'Seeing the money leave makes it real.' Has anyone else gone back to physical cash after trying apps?

Oh totally! I felt the same way @taylorc50. The apps just made it feel like fake Monopoly money. Swiping a card is nothing. But handing over actual cash for pizza night? That HURTS. I started with a gas envelope and now my wallet is stuffed with labeled ones. Watching that grocery cash disappear by the 20th of the month keeps me from grabbing fancy cheese every time.
