Picked a local credit union over my big bank for a car loan
I was gonna finance my 2018 F-150 through Chase like I always did, but my buddy talked me into checking out Hudson Valley Credit Union. Their rate was 4.2% vs Chase's 6.8% for the same 60 month term, so I switched. The whole process was way smoother too, no crazy paperwork hoops. Has anyone else had luck dumping a big bank for something local?

Did you see that Consumer Reports article that said credit unions beat banks on rates like 80% of the time? That's pretty solid proof you made the right call.

Guess a decades old financial model works better than all those flashy bank commercials with celebrities. You'd think they'd catch on by now but hey, those free toasters and checking accounts with a $15 monthly fee must be worth it. So much for all that "bank of the future" advertising, right?
