PSA: my meal prep containers cracked after 3 months in the freezer

I bought a 12 pack of those cheap plastic tubs back in January and figured they'd last, but yesterday I pulled out my chili and found a huge crack in the bottom, leaked all over my counter. I'm trying to figure out if I should just buy glass ones for $25 or if there's a better budget trick to keep food storage from dying on me. Anyone else have this happen and switch to something that actually holds up?

Plastic always does this eventually, it's like the universe has a timer on it. You buy the cheap stuff knowing it's disposable, then act surprised when it quits on you mid-chili. The real trick is figuring out what you're actually storing. I keep glass for anything with liquid, like soups or sauces, because gravity and cold find every weak spot. But for dry stuff like rice or frozen veg, I just reuse the bags things come in. The bigger pattern is people think one container fits all jobs, but that's like using a paper plate for a steak dinner. Pay once for the good stuff where it matters, and let the cheap stuff handle the boring jobs.
