That $20 budgeting app my sister recommended actually saved me $300 last quarter

My sister kept bugging me to try YNAB for like 6 months. I figured it was just another money tracker and ignored her. Finally downloaded it out of boredom and realized I was spending $90 a month on random fast food runs near my office in Phoenix. Has anyone else had a free or cheap tool totally change their spending habits?

YNAB did the same thing for me. First month I saw I was dropping like $50 on coffee and breakfast tacos every week because there was a taco truck right outside my office. Canceled the subscription after a year cause I had the budget dialed in and just used a plain spreadsheet after that. The real trick was making myself log every single transaction before I could spend more that day.

Disagree with @jasonc50, I just log everything at the end of the month and still save fine.
