Bought a $40 set of fancy pens for my journal and they bled through every page

I saw all these cool hand lettered spreads online and figured I needed nice brush pens to do it. Spent $40 on a set of Tombow markers and tried them in my Leuchtturm1917 notebook. Every single stroke bled through to the next page and ruined three weeks of spreads. I should have tested them on a scrap page first instead of jumping in blind. What pens do you guys use that don't wreck your paper?

Gel pens are way safer than brush markers for thin journal paper.
