You ever get so deep into fixing something that you forget what you were even doing in the first place? I once spent a whole hour rearranging my fridge magnets just to avoid starting the actual work I had sitting on my desk. That barista probably thought you were doing some top secret financial stuff, but really it's just the classic "if I tinker a little more it'll finally feel right" trap.
