My sister told me to stop buying fancy pens for my bullet journal

She said a basic black ballpoint was all I needed, and after six months of trying to make expensive gel pens work, she was right. My spreads are cleaner and I actually finish my weekly logs now. Anyone else find that simpler tools work better?

Honestly, the fancier the tool, the more I feel pressured to make everything perfect. A basic pen removes that mental block and lets you just write stuff down. It's about the habit, not the art supply.

Question if it's really that deep though... a planner versus a notepad, it's just paper at the end of the day. Unless she was spending hours decorating stickers in it, the change probably doesn't matter that much. People act like switching up their stationery is some big life transformation.
