My weekly spread went from cluttered to clean after a 3 month experiment

I used to cram every little task and note into my weekly log, and it was a mess by Wednesday. Six months ago I switched to a minimalist approach inspired by Ryder Carroll's original method, limiting myself to only 5 tasks per day. The difference is night and day - my Monday at the firehouse now actually gets done instead of just written down. Has anyone else found that trimming down their daily tasks made their journal actually useful?

And that 5 task limit is smart because it forces you to actually pick what matters most. I do something similar but I keep a separate notes page for anything that pops up during the day, so my weekly spread stays clean but I don't lose the random stuff. The firehouse schedule is unpredictable too, so having those 5 main things solid while letting the rest float has been a game changer for me. Do you find yourself moving unfinished tasks to the next day or just dropping them entirely?

Yeah, that's the part I had to learn the hard way. Most people I know try to cram everything into their day and then feel bad when they don't get to it. It's like we all got this idea that being busy means being productive, but really it just means you're tired and stressed. The five task limit forces you to admit that some stuff just isn't going to happen today, and that's fine. Life's not a checklist, it's more like a river-you can only grab so much before it floats on by.
