Saw a post about a 'failed' spread that made me rethink my own journal
Someone in a different group posted a picture of their weekly layout with a bunch of crossed-out tasks and a coffee stain. They called it a mess. But I looked at it and thought, that's a real week. My own journal from last month has four days in a row where I just wrote 'tired' and drew a box around it. I think we get so focused on the perfect spreads online that we forget the point is to use the thing. It's a tool, not a showpiece. Has anyone else found freedom in letting a week look a little rough?

Keep a "messy page" at the back of your journal, a spot where you're allowed to just scribble or dump stuff. It takes the pressure off the main pages.

Oh man, I actually do the total opposite. For me, having a messy page just feels like I'm hiding the real stuff. If my main pages are only for neat things, then they don't really show my life. I'd rather let the messy bits live right up front with everything else. It makes the whole journal feel more honest to me.
