Spent 6 months perfecting my weekly spread, then ditched it all

I used to spend hours on elaborate weekly layouts with washi tape and doodles. Last month I switched to a minimalist 5-minute setup and somehow I'm actually keeping up with it now. Did anyone else find that less decoration made bullet journaling actually work better for you?

So you're saying I was basically just making art projects with a to-do list attached? @averywright called me out hard with that "procrastination with pretty pens" line ouch.

The whole "done is better than perfect" thing finally clicked for me when I stopped trying to make each page look like an art project. The fancy spreads were just an excuse to avoid actually writing things down (procrastination with pretty pens, basically). Now I just do a quick vertical line for each day, jot down appointments and tasks in plain black ink, and it takes maybe 90 seconds total. The fun stickers and washi tape are reserved for the monthly overview now, which feels more like a treat than a chore.
