Spent a morning at a stationary shop in Portland and walked out a convert

I always thought washi tape was just junk for scrapbookers, but the owner showed me how she uses it to color-code monthly spreads. Has anyone else found a practical use for decorative supplies in their bullet journal?

Oh man I feel this so much! I was exactly the same way about washi tape until a friend showed me how she uses the skinny rolls to mark page edges so she can flip straight to her weekly spreads. It changed everything for me honestly. Now I buy the little sample packs with different widths and use the thin ones as dividers between months in my journal. The thicker decorative ones work great for sticking in little ticket stubs and receipts without ruining them. I still think some of it is overpriced but a little goes a really long way so your mileage may vary on that.

The skinny roll trick changed everything for me too, @viola_butler. I grabbed a cheap sample pack from a craft store and now I use the thin ones to mark my favorite recipes in a binder so I can flip right to them. The wider ones I cut into little squares to seal envelopes for notes to friends, it looks way nicer than plain tape. That little pack cost me like 8 bucks and I've barely made a dent in it after six months.
