Spilled a full mug of coffee on my 4 month old journal and learned a dumb simple trick to save it
So last Tuesday I was at the kitchen table in my apartment in Boise, trying to finish my weekly spread before work, and I knocked my mug right over with my elbow. The whole thing poured across pages 47 to 52, all my habit trackers and the grocery list I'd been building for a week. I panicked, grabbed a paper towel, and started dabbing, which of course smeared the ink everywhere and made it way worse. My roommate heard me yell and came out, looked at it, and said just put a paper towel under the wet pages and stack heavy books on top, then hit it with a hair dryer on low. I did that for like 20 minutes and honestly most of the pages came back flat and readable, only the habit tracker box got a weird brown ring. The bigger thing I learned is to never use a mug without a lid near a journal that's still got 80 pages left in it. Now I keep my coffee in a travel cup when I'm writing. Has anyone else wrecked a spread this bad, and did you just rewrite it or leave the stain as a memory?
