TIL my index was the problem, not my weekly spread
I kept failing my weekly layouts for like 2 years. Every Sunday I'd set up these nice columns and collections, then by Tuesday they'd be a mess of ignored boxes. Last month I finally went back through my old journals from 2021 and saw the pattern: I was never using the index. I'd flip to a future log, write down a task, and never link it anywhere. Then my eye doctor said I needed to log my headaches and I just wrote 'headache log, page 47' in the index without thinking. That tiny act made everything click. Now I index every single spread, even quick brain dumps, and my weeks actually hold together. Has anyone else had a basic habit they skipped for ages that turned out to be the whole point?

Honestly, I get why that helped you, but I think it's the opposite for me. I tried indexing everything once and it just felt like extra work that didn't fix the real issue, which was that I was putting too many random tasks in my weekly spread in the first place. Tbh, cutting my list down did way more than any index ever did.
