Tried a new way to track my water intake that finally stuck

I could never keep up with those little tracker boxes in my weekly spread... they just felt like a chore. So last month, I started drawing a simple glass of water on my daily page and coloring in one section for every 8 ounces I drink. It's visual and quick, and I've actually hit my goal of 64 ounces for 14 days straight now. Has anyone else found a simple picture works better than a checklist for some habits?

Actually, 8 ounces is only one cup.

Hold up though, 8 ounces by weight of water is exactly one cup, sure, but 8 ounces of cream cheese is a whole different story (like, it packs way denser). Most people are measuring flour or sugar in cups, and that's where the weight game gets wild. A cup of all-purpose flour weighs about 4.5 ounces, so saying 8 ounces is one cup on that is just wrong. Recipes that give weights are way more reliable for baking (no arguments there), but the whole "8 ounces equals one cup" rule only works for liquids, not for dry stuff like you think.

But what are you measuring? A cup of flour and a cup of shredded cheese weigh totally different amounts. Are you talking fluid ounces for liquids, or ounces by weight? That's where people mess up recipes.
