My band saw blade snapped mid-rib on a side of beef yesterday

It was a fresh 1-inch blade, and the pop made me jump. I had to finish the breakdown with a hand saw, which took forever. What's the best brand for a heavy-duty replacement that can handle cold rooms?

Sounds like my band saw and my will to live have the same durability lol.

My Milwaukee bandsaw has lasted eight years of daily abuse in a Chicago meat locker. Some tools just hold up better than others.

Oh man, that "pop" is the worst sound! I've been there with a blade snapping on a frozen pork shoulder, and the sudden jolt is pure panic. Switching to a hand saw for the rest of the job is just brutal, especially in the cold. That really ruins your whole rhythm. For heavy duty cold room work, I've had great luck with Timber Wolf blades, they seem to handle the temperature shock way better.
