Check out @king.aaron's method, but honestly, you could also hide everything with a full-wrap veneer.

Honestly, that "no visible joinery" request is a real puzzle. I've done it by using a stopped sliding dovetail from the inside top into the sides, then capping it with a solid wood top that gets glued on last. You have to get the grain match perfect so the glue line disappears.
