Hit 500 completed drawer boxes last week, does quantity actually mean quality?

Been doing custom cabinets out of my shop in Akron for about 6 years now. Last week I finished my 500th drawer box. I keep a tally on the wall just to see, not for any real reason. 500 feels like a lot, but half of them were dovetailed, the other half were dado and glue. Some came out perfect, a few had to get rebuilt. So here's the debate: does hitting a number like that mean you're actually getting better, or does it just mean you've done the same mistakes more times? I've seen guys with 30 years of experience turn out garbage because they never cared to learn. And I've seen a 4th year apprentice nail a full kitchen install. Is it mileage or mindset that makes a cabinetmaker? What's the milestone number that made you step back and wonder if you were actually progressing or just spinning in place?
