I swore I'd never use a track saw for cabinet boxes, then a job in Fresno humbled me
For 12 years I broke down sheet goods on a cabinet saw with a homemade crosscut sled. Thought track saws were for trim carpenters who couldn't build a real sled. Then last month I took a kitchen job in Fresno, 14 boxes with all plywood sides, and my sled kicked out of square on the third sheet. Spent 4 hours chasing it back to dead on. Finally borrowed my buddy's track saw, ripped the rest of the job in 2 hours flat with no tearout on the maple veneer. I still feel weird saying it, but I'm buying my own next week. What's your go-to method for breaking down a full lift of 3/4 ply without burning a Saturday?
