I used to think safety glasses were annoying, but a close call with flying splinters changed my mind.

Honestly that "close call with flying splinters" part really got me. What did that actually look like? Like were you cutting something and a piece just zipped right past your eye, or did something actually hit the lens? Tbh hearing the specific near-miss sometimes hammers the point home way more than just the general warning.

Remembered a time a chip from a chisel flew straight at my face. It made a sharp ping sound when it hit the safety glasses. That sound alone made me a believer for life.
