Just realized half the hinges I buy don't come with the right screws anymore
Picked up a box of 20 Blum compact hinges last month from a local supplier near Boston. Got home, opened it up, and they only included like 8 of the little wood screws. Had to dig through my scrap bin for matching ones. Called around and a buddy said it's been happening for a while now. Anyone else notice this with newer stock? I keep a jar of extras now but it's annoying when you're on a job and short.

Only included like 8 of the little wood screws" - that's wild. You'd think a company like Blum would have their QC dialed in. I wonder if the screw shortage is tied to the same supply chain mess that's been hitting everything from paint to drywall. Maybe the factories are just grabbing whatever fasteners are on hand to keep the boxes moving.

I agree with what you said about the factories maybe just grabbing whatever is on hand. It's part of a bigger pattern I've noticed everywhere lately. Even simple things like buying a bag of flour at the grocery store, the bag might be a little thinner or the twist tie is a different color. You order a garden hose and the little rubber washer inside is missing. It's like the whole world has decided to skimp on the small details that used to be a given. I'm not mad, just tired of having to check everything twice before I can use it.
