Just realized my assembly table was my best sanding station all along

Last weekend I was sanding a bunch of cabinet doors for a kitchen job in Tacoma, and my shop vac hose kept snagging on the bench legs. I got frustrated and just laid the doors flat on my big assembly table, clamped a couple of guides down, and used my orbital sander with the vacuum attached to the table's dust port. It took maybe 10 minutes to set up, but I finished three times faster than fighting with the edge of my workbench. Has anyone else repurposed their assembly table like this, or do you have a dedicated sanding top you swear by?
