Just realized solid wood isn't always the right call for face frames
I spent years refusing to use MDF or plywood for face frames, thought it was cheating. Then I did a full kitchen remodel in Austin last fall, 42 cabinets with painted white frames. The straightness of the plywood was unreal, zero twist, zero warping after 8 months of dry Texas heat. My old hardwood frames would've shown movement by now, especially around the sink base. Now I'm not saying ditch real wood for everything, but for painted work, I'm fully converted. Anyone else had a material snob moment that backfired on them?
