My worst plywood order showed me a huge difference in quality
Last month I ordered 10 sheets of maple ply from a local big box. Picky job, needed flat faces. Opened the first sheet on site, had voids you could stick a pencil through. Took 3 trips back to swap bad sheets. Finally caved and paid $25 more per sheet from a dedicated lumber yard. One sheet. Perfect. Flat. No voids. Night and day difference. Has anyone else just sworn off certain suppliers after a bad run like that?

Oh man, I feel your pain. I had the exact same thing happen with birch ply from that same place, brought home four sheets and two of them had core gaps so bad I could practically see through them.

Got burned the same way with birch ply from a warehouse that rhymes with "Home Desperate." Three sheets had delamination on the edges by the time I got them home. Never went back for sheet goods again, only worth the trip for pressure treated lumber now.
