Old timer at the lumber yard set me straight on plywood storage

I was at Highland Hardware in Atlanta last Tuesday grabbing some maple ply for a credenza job. This guy in his 70s, been doing cabinets since the 70s, saw me toss a sheet flat on my truck bed. He walked over and said 'you storing that flat or just hauling it?' I said just hauling. He goes 'good, cause storing ply flat on the ground ruins it faster than anything. The moisture wicks up from the concrete, warps it in a week.' I never thought about that. He said he keeps all his sheets on edge, leaned against a wall with a 2x4 underneath. Has anyone else had plywood warp just from sitting on a garage floor?

Floor sweat is real but not that fast unless you live in a swamp.
