Soft-close hinges actually converted me after 10 years of saying no

I always thought soft-close was just a gimmick for folks who slam doors, but a client in Portland insisted on them for a full kitchen redo last month. After installing 42 of them and hearing that quiet thunk on every single cabinet, I get it now. Has anyone else flipped on a hardware trend they used to hate?
