That time a client brought in a 30-year-old kitchenaid mixer for a cabinet surround
Last Tuesday lady rolls in with this beat up mixer her grandma left her and wants a custom cabinet nook for it. I measured the thing three times and it still looks goofy in the space - has anyone else dealt with retrofitting around old appliances like this?

anderson.gavin nailed it honestly. Nobody going to pull out a tape measure at their friends party and judge the gap size. Throw some trim on it if its bugging you that bad but the mixer's character is what people notice not the half inch of extra space.

Big time skeptic here. That mixer is never gonna look right no matter how many times you measure. Old kitchenaid stuff has weird proportions that modern cabinet designers just dont account for. Youre overthinking this whole thing honestly. Just build a standard cabinet surround and let the mixer sit there like the ugly relic it is. Nobody is gonna stare at it and think "wow this doesnt fit perfectly." Theyre gonna think "cool old mixer." Stop trying to make it architectural art.
