Yeah exactly, some woods just really soak into the air. That walnut oil is no joke, it sticks to everything and takes forever to fade.

Man, that smell really gets into everything, doesn't it? I had a similar thing happen with some cedar planks last fall, and my work jacket still has a hint of it. Is there any wood smell you actually get sick of after a while?

Remember reading that certain woods release more volatile compounds when cut. Walnut has a strong, sweet smell from those natural oils. Makes sense it would hang around the shop that long.
