That wild customer who wanted me to make a cabinet for a 70 inch TV in 3 days

Last Tuesday a guy calls me up saying he needs a custom media cabinet for a 70 inch TV and he needs it by Friday. I said no way man that's impossible for something that size with proper joinery. He offered me double my normal rate so I caved and said I'd try. I stayed up until 2am three nights in a row cutting and assembling everything in my shop in Portland. When I delivered it he barely looked at the cabinet he just wanted to mount the TV right away. Has anyone else ever taken a crazy rush job and immediately regretted it?

The real issue is that guy didn't even appreciate the work, he just needed something to hold his TV by Friday.

My neighbor once asked me to help build a shelf for his TV and then complained it was an inch too low after I spent the whole weekend on it, @wadebailey. He didn't even care about the wood grain or the joinery, just kept checking his watch because he had people coming over that night. Made me want to take the whole thing apart and leave him with a pile of scrap wood. Some folks just see a solution to their Friday problem, not the craft behind it.
