Warning: cheap soft-close slides cost me a redo on 14 drawers
Bought a bulk pack of off-brand undermount slides for $120 to save cash on a kitchen job in Beaverton, and 6 of them sagged within 8 months. Had to tear out all 14 drawers to swap in better ones, plus lost a client who won't answer my calls now. Anybody else burned by bargain hardware that seemed fine at first?

Man, that sucks. I used to be all about saving a buck on hardware too, figured slides were slides and the name brand stuff was just markup. But then I had a set of cheap clips on a bathroom vanity fail in like six months, drawers just started hanging crooked. That changed my whole view real quick. Now I only buy the mid-grade stuff from a real supplier, even if it stings the wallet upfront. Paying three times as much once beats doing the job twice and losing your reputation over it.
