Why does nobody talk about how long it takes to dial in a new spray rig?

I spent a full day and a half just getting the fan pattern and fluid pressure right on my new HVLP setup for a lacquer job. Anyone have a faster method for this?

Man, that setup time is the worst part of any new rig.

Tell me about it. That "full day and a half" sounds painfully familiar. It's the hidden tax on any new gear, just staring at a test panel making tiny adjustments forever. I've found the only thing that speeds it up is having a ton of the same material to spray, so you can just burn through the learning curve. Otherwise, it's just slow, annoying work.
