Compression fittings on RG6, I stopped fighting them and go back to crimp on service calls

I spent 6 years swearing by compression fittings. Then last month I got called back to a house in Wichita where the customer's modem kept dropping. The line from the ground block to the wall plate looked fine, but my meter showed a 6 dB loss spike. Pulled the fitting off and the center conductor had wiggled loose inside the compression sleeve. Replaced it with a standard crimp connector and the signal cleaned right up. Now I carry both, but for outdoor stuff or anywhere a customer might bump the cable, I use crimp. It takes me an extra 20 seconds per end but I haven't had a single repeat visit since. Anyone else bail on compression after a failure like that? What's your go-to when you get a call back that you know is connector related?
