Found out my 2019 van has a hidden grommet behind the kick panel, and it saved me an hour on a drop in Frankfort
Last Tuesday I was running coax to the back of a house in Frankfort and the homeowner did not want any holes in her new siding, so I was stuck looking for a path inside. I pulled the driver side kick panel to check a fuse and there it was, an unused rubber grommet straight through the firewall that the factory put in for a trim level my van does not even have. Anybody else find free pass throughs on their rigs that the manual never mentions?
I used to just drill my own hole whenever I needed one and call it a day, but man, poking around for factory cutouts first is the move. That free grommet behind the kick panel is the kind of thing I wish the manual actually told you about. Saved you way more than an hour of sweating in some attic, honestly.
