Switched from a ladder to a boom for attic drops, night and day difference
I fought with a 6-foot ladder for years on two-story attic runs in Phoenix, always juggling the fish tape and drywall dust. Last week my partner let me use his boom lift for a 14-cable pull and I finished in half the time without killing my shoulders. Anyone else made the switch and never looked back, or is the rental cost still too steep for you guys?

Renting a boom for a day is cheaper than a chiropractor visit, that's for sure. I did the same thing on a warehouse job last year and now I budget it into every two-story bid. The real kicker is how much less beat-up you feel at the end of the week, that alone pays for the rental. Only downside is hauling the thing around, but you can have it dropped on site. Once you get used to not fighting gravity the whole time, going back to a ladder feels like a punishment.
